Albany bar loses liquor license

Wow I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that Cagney’s serves underage drinkers. Cagney’s has ALWAYS been the destination for underage SUNY students, since I was first in college and that is going back 15 years or so now.

Rob, it is obvious that you are a simpleton. Your logic is good if it where only that easy. Rob you and I are a member of a society and it is all about being a responsible citizen. Unfortunately we 16, 17, 18, 19, and so on (young folks) have proven statistically that we cannot be trusted. Many (not all) but far too many drink and drive. It is obvious that you read the news, so it isn’t hard to find the latest news story about a young drunk dude killing self or other(s) in a drunken driving case! Society CAN NOT ACCEPT when especially the innocent is killed!! fake identity websites !

Do you want to hear more news stories about the 8 year old girl killed in the drunken driving homicide by an 18 year old punk? This is why the law is what it is. Respect it. And no matter what your age is, Don’t drink and drive!

I agree. The 21 year old drinking age is a farce. The states were blackmailed by mothers against drunk drivers (MADD) so as to assuage their guilt. The law has done more harm, and inspired more hypocrisy, than good. When we live in a society were people can get married, own property, serve in the military, but can’t drink, then something is seriously wrong.

Bars that serve underage drinkers, no matter what the age is, idpurchase.com are just plain wrong. The law is wrong, but if you disagree then work within the system for change. These bar owners however aren’t thinking of protesting an unethical law, they just want to make a buck regardless of the law, so bust ‘em down I say.

Though I’m not very familiar with the current owners of the bar, I have personally known the bartender at Cagney’s for quite some time and I’ve never seen him serve anyone that he knew was underage. He checks every ID when there isn’t a bouncer to do it, and always has an eye out for fake ID’s both to keep himself and the bar out of trouble, as well as out of respect for the law and his unwillingness to contribute to the tragic amount of drunken accidents in and around Albany. Let’s not jump to conclusions about the respectability of everyone involved. I for one will be sorely disappointed if one of my favorite places to relax with a cold beer and good conversation doesn’t re open.

I hate to say this, but he needed to check them a little closer, obvouisly. They said they observed a large number of people consuming alcohol who appeared to be under 21 years of age.

I am glad to know that NYS hires such gifted clairvoyants.

Looking underage is not the same as being underage. If they felt that they were underage why didn’t they check ID’s, make arrests and close down the bar then? fake id maker online

Or did they psychically know that they arrested would get off?

Gruber don’t be a GOOBER!

How do you know that you are not still alive here today because of the efforts of MADD???? Maybe if we didn’t have the toughened laws you or someone you know might have been killed by a teen driver. Let’s hope it stops happening! Gruber wrote:
